Shake, Rattle, and Roll

Apparently there have been 3 little trembles in the past couple weeks during the night but I haven´t felt them.



The other shake has been the change in politics, reinforcing why I think they are ugly. The Minister of Health changed, therefore everything changes as people help their friends achieve positions of greater power. Since the higher positions change with some frequency, there is a lack of consistency and progress among projects. At the hospital in Tena, the director (who was also Nicole´s husband) has been removed from his position and replaced by a dentist who has never worked in a hospital. He quit after not even 2 weeks though and we now have a new director. The new therapy building, originally scheduled to open in April, may open soon they say. This location is to provide therapy services to children and adults. We´ll see!

In reference to nature, there was also a volcano that was erupting ash causing flights to be cancelled in Guayaquil and some town evacuations. We were worried it might affect travel when my parents came but everything returned back to normal.
